The building of the prototype low-cost farm-scale biogas system has been progressing over the past few months. Initial emphasis has been placed on the ancillary equipment, such as the shredder and the predigester.

However, work has started on the underground digester, with the first earth removed on 23 Nov 2009. Unfortunately the weather for the following few weeks was very wet, then we had snow, so progress has been limited. We have a hole, and we are moving on to the next step.

We aim to be ready to process food wastes starting mid-March 2010.
